Interesting experience today as there were various topics I was interested in learning where initially my thought was there was no way I could learn so much for free. I proved myself wrong though as with a little research it felt like I could literally learn what anyone else would if they dedicated the time to it like a traditional school.
I think the main negative is whether or not you can motive yourself to study a topic or trade as if you are in a school where since you aren’t paying any money in this case you tend to take it for granted. In some cases it’s almost like it is better to pay for it so at least you have a sense of potential loss financially if you don’t follow through.
The other source I used of all things was learning from friends. It turned out that I actually knew many people who were knowledgeable in the subjects and they were more than happy to educate me about it. Guess it’s one of those scenarios too where you shouldn’t just think that all people know are only things related to their professions for example as many people may be super knowledgeable about things because of a hobby or side education. Stay open minded and ask around.
