This was kind of funny today as I dropped by a supermarket and noticed that their electronics section appeared to be under renovation. People were still able to go inside and so I stopped in to see if anything was new. What kind of surprised me was how it seemed like they were clearing out a lot of video games where ones that would normally cost say $30 were now like $7.
While I was kind of amazed at the prices a child then comes by as well and looks at the games. He immediately reacts on the prices he saw as well saying “Wow those are pretty cheap.” That was cute as it obviously meant he was aware of how much video games normally cost. On the road to being financially savvy maybe in terms of bargain hunting?
Kind of makes you wonder too where at times whether or not it’s better to show kids the prices of the gifts that they receive. Of course we all hide it due to being polite, but I guess that is one of the biggest reasons why a child can’t really put financial values on things normally as we usually hide the price tags from them.
