Everyone else read the news where apparently there is a new lawsuit targeting Mcdonalds about a person saying they suffered burns from a hot coffee? The first thing I thought about was an older story way back where a person brought up a similar lawsuit and won about two million dollars. Apparently the difference here is that the lady is claiming that she was handed the coffee where the lid wasn’t put on properly and therefore the coffee spilled on her. Similar to the other case it seems like they are suing for about two million dollars with a big point trying to target how the coffee is too hot.
While I am sure there is always more to it, the amount just seems so astronomically high that it just makes you think that it is one of those monkey see monkey do situations huh? I did find the timing of this kind of funny though as just a few days ago I watched this video about how the media was over exaggerating the old Mcdonalds hot coffee case:
It does make we wonder what runs across people’s minds when they decide to sue for such a high number like in these situations. Again, while there is probably more to the story most people probably can’t help but to think that it is either a frivolous lawsuit or that it is better than playing the lottery. Be interesting how this turns out.
