I was thinking today as I was doing a lot of communicating with text messages on the phone and it got extremely difficult to interpret what exactly the “tone” of the message was I was receiving. For example, if the person was uptight then I could interpret it as I needed to follow up with it immediately. However, if it was simply confusion then all it needed was a simple answer. At the same time, it made me think on how if we simply just used the actual voice call it would have been more straight forward.
Is a voice call too intimidating nowadays I was thinking? It’s funny too as in my personal life I often think a lot of these text messages get lost in translation depending on the mood you are in. Makes me wonder if there are any crazy stories out there of business deals that went sour simply due to misinterpretations of people constantly sending each other text messages. That’s why I usually limit it to quick messages such as if you are trying to locate another person. I guess until then there is treason why I need to have an unlimited text plan for my phone.
